As a computer technician I encounter many misconceptions about computers. Internet provider software is one that is often misunderstood. Internet service providers often give customers the false impression that their software is necessary to connect to the internet. If you are one of these folks, you may be asking yourself what other impressions your cheap Internet service provider is giving you.
Do I need software to connect to the Internet?
Absolutely not. The Windows operating system provides all the networking software needed to connect to the Internet and most other types of networks for that matter. Some ISPs require that their branded software be installed to connect to their service. This required software is used by the service provider to capture your attention for the purpose of showing you advertisements and the ISPs own focused content.
Usually when you click to connect to one of these service providers your browser opens and you are bombarded with ads while the home page loads. You may be able to customize the content posted on the home page to your liking, but lets face facts, You have become a captive audience and you are being taken for a ride.
What does the Internet Service Providers software do?
Internet access provider software does 2 things immediately on install. First it hijacks your Windows connection software so that it can not be used to connect to any other service provider. Usually other Windows network services are also disabled, such as Internet connection sharing. Second, it hijacks your web browser so that you must log on to their home page, which I find ironic since internet service providers are always warning us about spyware that hijacks your browser.
The perpetrators of this type of hijacking is a list of the most popular service providers. You know them as, AOL, NetZero, EarthLink, PeoplePC, AT&T, Netscape… and the list goes on. AOL being the ring leader and takes control of your computer beyond the extreme to the point of being criminal. All of these service providers prefer to hijack the Internet Explorer browser because all Windows users have it installed and it is easy to build software for. But most can also be used with Netscape or Firefox.
So what is the alternative?
Simply contact a service provider and ask them if internet connection software is required to use their service. Not all Internet service providers require that you install connection software and are very willing to help you set up your Windows network connection.
While doing research for this article, I expected to find price to be a factor in the connection software equation. ISPs that require connection software obviously make money force feeding you advertisements, allowing them to offer lower rates. To my surprise that does not appear to be the most important factor in setting price. I found that bandwidth has more affect in determining rates.
So, escape from the hijackers. There are many national Internet service providers out there that don’t require that you be held hostage to pop up ads and stale content. Search the Internet for ISPs, do your homework and you will find the freedom to surf the web the way you deserve.

Internet Provider Connection Software - Why?
Satellite Internet Providers
bring satellite technology to customers spread out in urban as well as sparsely populated rural locations in America. This technology has been in the market for quite some time now and satellite internet has now become exceptionally high performing and more user-friendly as a result of much innovation. Small businesses and homes in rural areas as well as cities now have another broadband Internet solution they can count on. A two-way high speed satellite connection is quite a popular option for small business customers and home users in rural locations of the United States. Some of the rough edges still need to be smoothened in satellite Internet, but technology is taking care of that while ensure that customers are thoroughly satisfied with their connection. WildBlue and HughesNet are two of the major players in the market. There’s no doubting the fact that the connection offered by either of them is miles ahead of a dial-up connection. Considering the WildBlue connection, it only requires a click to get connected as the connection is always there as is the case with all broadband connections. With dial-up you know that it takes some time for the dialing in to complete before you’re connected. Moreover, a dial-up connection is quite slow in that any serious Internet activity cannot be performed as efficiently as with a satellite Internet connection. With a high speed broadband connection you can enjoy heavy downloading, video and music downloads, file sharing, and multiple tasks. With WildBlue, broadband Internet speeds rise up to 1.5 Mbps for downloads and up to 256 Kbps for uploads with the premium Pro Pak. You’ll find satellite broadband Internet scores over dial-up in more ways than one. What’s more, high speed service providers offer professional installation of the equipment and offer great customer support as well, wherever you may be in continental United States. Not only is a satellite connection fast, but more affordable now than before. also ensure that you’ve got what you really wanted. It’s no longer a leap into the unknown.

Tips on Choosing the Best High Speed Internet Provider
High speed Internet is the way to go these days especially if you use the World Wide Web on a daily basis. In fact, many who have switched from dial up to a high speed connection have sworn that they will never go back to the days of the old method. If you are thinking about getting a high speed connection for your computer or if you want to switch Internet providers, there are a few tips to keep in mind in order to choose the best Internet provider for your high speed connection needs.
See Who Provides Service in Your Area
The first step to finding the best Internet provider for a high speed connection is to determine who offers service in your area. Since not all Internet providers offer service in every area, it is a good idea to first call around and determine what your choices are with regard to providers. From that point you can narrow down the options to the best choice for high speed connections.
Determine the Best Internet Provider With Regard to Plan Offerings
When switching to a high speed connection or selecting a new Internet provider for your computer’s high speed connection you will have to peruse the plan offerings of various companies to determine which one is the best for your Internet needs. Within each high speed connection category you will come across various package options and you will have to narrow down the choices based on which package looks the best. This is another way to help you choose the best technology provider for your high speed Internet.
Figure Out Which Company Offers a Desirable Plan for the Best Price
You will also undoubtedly come across high speed plans which are similar in nature between the companies yet be different prices. Therefore, the best thing to do is determine which type of high speed package you wish to obtain and then call around to the different companies to see who offers the best deal on that desired Internet package. After all, who wants to pay more for an Internet package offered by one company when it is offered for a lesser price by another company? Shopping around for the best price is a wise thing to do in order to save money in the end.
Look at What the Company Offers in Addition to the Package Itself
Lastly, when shopping for an Internet provider which offers high speed connections you must also consider what the company offers their customers in addition to the package itself. In other words, factors such as customer service skills, availability of company representatives, technological advancements being made by the company and extra benefits offered by the provider should all be things considered when choosing your high speed Internet provider.
How To Compare Australian Cheap Internet Providers Before You Buy
As more and more people in Australia need access to the internet to satisfy their needs, such as playing online games, shopping online or even work from home, more and more cheap internet providers are available to consumers. It can sometimes be confusing for consumers to choose from the long list of different internet service providers that focus on so many different versions of home phone plans and small business phone plans..
To name a few, there are the dial-up internet access providers, internet cable service providers, internet wireless service providers and also the internet satellite service providers.
Firstly, ask yourself if you would need really fast internet connection and why do you need it. Is it for mere browsing purposes or for heavy downloading and to play online games? The fastest internet connection provider would be the internet satellite service provider but the downside to it is that it costs much more compared to other cheap internet providers.
Secondly, if you are a heavy internet user, you would want to opt for internet cable service providers as it provides fast internet connection, sufficient for heavy downloads and also for playing online games. It is usually not as fast as internet satellite service providers but is considerably cheaper.
Thirdly, if you own electronic gadgets such as CD players, digital cameras and so on, you would want to choose the wireless internet access providers. Small businesses that are dependant on efficient and fast internet delivery and need extensive phone services should especially be careful in doing their homework comparing what is offered by the various cheap internet providers in Australia.
Lastly, for normal browsing usage, a simple dial-up internet access provider would be sufficient to do the job and are considered cheap internet providers with moderate usage. However, the dial-up internet access providers is one of the wired internet access providers.
It is a form of internet access in which the user or the receiver of the internet connection makes use of the telephone line and the modem in the computer to get access. Thus, other people would not be able to call in when this form of internet is in use.
Some Common Problems With Cable Internet Providers
When you introduce your business to the customers, you must think that your business is at high quality. Businesses like restaurants, gaming shops, mini-stores, fashion shops, boutiques and others are competing against their own competitors in order to be on the top of the mountain. Every business has their own problems, and they need to solve it by themselves. For example, if you have a restaurant business and your customers are complaining about the taste of your spaghetti, that is a common problem.
The customer can file you a lawsuit if your food or menu has a bad taste or something that makes it dangerous to consume, and you should be aware of it. If your business was one of those that were being complained, you have no choice but to take action in solving the problem. Another example would be the gaming shops. Customers are expecting that they have no problems in playing online and local area network (LAN) games like Warcraft and Counter Strike. The owner of the gaming shop has the responsibility of its employees and everything when there are problems and complaints from their customers about the environment.
The same thing goes to cable internet providers. Here are some of the common problems that needs to be resolved:
1. Speed. This is one of the main problems of your internet. If your speed is slow, there is a greater chance that the customers may be frustrated and would shift to another internet cafe. The internet cafe is not to be blamed in terms of speed, because they can report into their cable internet service provider about it. The cable internet provider will be the ones to take action of the problems experienced by your gaming cafe about the speed and interruptions of the internet connection.
2. Lack of discipline. This is another common problem with the cable internet providers. If they will show their lack of discipline on providing their services, it might result for the gradual decrease of the customers and gaming cafes who subscribed with their respective cable internet provider.
3. Unreasonable price. As an owner of an internet cafe, you are concerned with the price offered by your cable internet provider. If the price is too much expensive but gives you low quality performance, you can say that they’re telling a lie that their service is very high quality than other competitors. You can file a complaint or lawsuit against your provider for this problem.
4. Promises are made to be broken. Not all businesses are perfect, and this is normal for us. But there are times that a cable internet provider that the maintenance will end on a specific time or day, will be delayed for no reason. If you have a reason why anything is delayed, the customer might appreciate it. If there’s no specific reason for any promise made by the internet service provider, customers will begin to doubt on using their services.
These are some of the problems that are common to experienced users of their cable internet provider. If the customers are experiencing any problems on the cable internet provider, they need to take action immediately or else they will lose their trust on using them for good.

Bell Internet Provider in Canada Provides Various Services
Now, getting connected to the Internet in Rural Canada is easy with the help of Bell Rural Internet Provider. Regular residential service class options include ADSL, dial-up and cable.
All services are not available everywhere, which means that in some areas in Canada you may be stuck with only one option. But, if you live in a large city like Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver you will have number of options to choose from the all services of Bell internet Service Provider Canada.
If you happen to live in a house that had a high-speed internet service in the past then the connection time by your ISP should be quick (even within 24hrs). If not then it may take some days to get high-speed internet service connection from Bell Internet Provider Canada.
If you are having a portable computer then some establishments like four and five star hotels, airports and cafes like “Second Cup” and “Starbucks” may have Wi-Fi connections available for a fee of cost. Even these are not widely available yet, they provide an alternative to Internet cafes.
Dial-up access
Dial-up is the most basic of the Internet Services of Bell internet Service Provider Canada
and is available everywhere where there is a phone line. If you choose a dial-up service, this ensure that the number you dial to get connected is either a toll free number or a local call in your area. And if not then you will be paying long distance charges each time you access it. Most dial-up services from Bell Internet Provider Canada offer flat rates of about CAD$ 20 or less per month and some may offer additional features like website space, email addresses etc.
High-speed access
There are many packages and options available with High-speed Internet in big cities of Canada. You may get High-speed Internet through your cable TV operator or through your phone service provider.
The slowest high-speed services are in the range of 128kbps to 256kbps and cost around CAD$ 30 per month. Depending on your area the current cable speeds and fastest ADSL are around 10Mbps and such service is about CAD$ 55 per month including all taxes.
Sometimes with your TV and/or wireless service, you may be able to bundle your Internet service and could save between 10% and 20% of the costs of buying each service separately.
Competition is the key to better services at lower prices for consumers in a free market-based economy. In Calgary, the only credible competition to Shaw there city where my friend live, is Telus: his old-school land-line telco. They offer DSL packages but their “turbo” package tops out at 1mbps upstream and 15mbps downstream for $45/month. DSL has lagged behind cable Internet access for years and short of Telus deploying Fibre-based services, they are simply no challenge to Shaw.
Cheap Internet Providers: Find A Better Plan To Save You Money
Internet service providers are as many as it seems to be; the trick is finding cheap internet providers that could help you save more money in this economic recession era.
Among the various internet service providers, such as dial-up internet access providers, internet cable service providers, internet wireless service providers and also the internet satellite service providers, it is hard to pinpoint which cheap internet providers would serve you best without fully understanding the different packages and plans offered.
The DSL connection is a high-speed internet connection, which uses the existing phone line for internet connectivity but does not interrupt incoming nor outgoing calls. Moreover, since it is not shared, it maintains privacy.
The cable modem connection speed varies from system to system but it is cost effective and can be made available anytime.
The satellite internet service is expensive but is much faster than others and highly efficient. It is a good alternative to those who do not have access to DSL or cable connections.
Once you have chosen which cheap internet provider suits you best in terms of connection speed and so on, you would like to do some surveys to find out the plan that would serve you best.
For example, you would normally be required to sign up on a contract basis but the duration varies from plans to plans. Longer contract time will bring about less to no modem charges. Along with certain connection packages, some plans would involve a certain monthly quota and limited usage time to off peak hours from 12am-7am.
Therefore, if you are a consistent internet user, sign up for the contract that would save you more money on modem charges. In addition, if you are an off peak hours user, why not choose a plan that allows you to surf the net during those hours only? It would save you more money and think of the amount of money you could save in the long run!
Cheap Internet Providers: Why You Need To Shop Around
As important as price might be, unfortunately, it is not something that you could base your judgment solely upon in this occasion. There are several equally important factors you should be aware of as well.
Internet service providers may be of different types, focusing on different aspects. Many years ago, the telephone was the only technology to support internet services. However, there are many technologies available to support internet services today. Some internet providers offer you web hosting, domain name registration and hosting and so on along with access facilities. Therefore, it is important to know what you want and need from these cheap internet providers.
For example, cable internet service is one of the most useful internet sources. This internet service is fast and user friendly. Moreover, it does not involve your telephone system, allowing you to receive important phone calls while the internet is working. Cable internet services are also usually cheap and so fast that it allows users to play online games.
Next, there is the wireless internet access provider and is becoming exceedingly popular with the growing usage of internet and VoIP phones and consumer electronics. All you need it is a wireless access point that is required for connecting the wireless devices to LAN and you could get connected to the internet without any troublesome cables within a certain range.
As for internet satellite service providers, it provides very fast connection and is user friendly. The connection speed is so fast that heavy downloads take a fraction of the time needed by dial-ups. However, the downside to this is that internet satellite services are much more expensive.
So if you are budget conscious you need to be prepared to take the time to compare all the so-called cheap internet providers to find the genuine value services.
