Since wireless Internet hit the scene it has been a very popular and convenient way to get connected to the Internet. Although wireless signals are popping up in many locations such as cafes, bars, and restaurants, it can still be somewhat difficult to find a wireless signal unless you have a password. Most people are keen to the fact that if you leave you wireless network open, pretty much anyone around with a laptop or an iPhone is going to be trying to hop onto your network. This could include passersby and neighbors. It wouldn’t be a problem if that didn’t also mean that your Internet connection would get slowed down in the process. What if this wasn’t a factor and you could get connected to a wireless signal from anywhere in your area?
The possibilities with this are far and wide. You could work from a variety of different locations, not just from home or from the office. You could have business meetings from anywhere without having to worry about how you are going to present your information. You can multitask by paying bills online or responding to emails while you wait in the car to pick up your kids from school. You can head to the beach or to the local park with your laptop and upload photos from your most recent vacation to your Facebook page. There are many things you could do if this was a reality. The good news is that the technology needed in order to make this a reality is here. It is called a 4G WiMax Internet connection.
WiMax works just like the wireless connection you have at home except that it extends its coverage much further than your wireless at home. This Internet can be found all over cities like Syracuse, NY and Salem, Massachusetts. The word WiMax stands for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access. This is a different type of technology than the one that is used in your home and it is able to transmit signals much further so it can cover smaller cities like Syracuse and Salem, and larger cities as well. You have to have an account with the WiMax provider in order to be able to access the wireless network. Surprisingly, the cost to get this type of connection is very reasonable and it is often much cheaper than the other high speed Internet options out there, like cable, DSL, and satellite Internet. You only need the modem that the provider will give you to get connected. Some newer laptops are even coming already equipped with an internal modem of this kind so you never have to worry about remembering to bring it along.
If you have to make the choice of what type of Internet connection you will have in your home, why not choose a WiMax connection? It is the only choice that will allow you to take it with you and use it from anywhere.
